Pneumatic Launcher
Design
The pneumatic launcher works by storing the correct pressure of air needed to launch the bean bag to the desired location in the air tank. This pressure is monitored by a pressure sensor and pressure gauge which allows the micro to make adjustments. The air is then released through the sprinkler valve which pushes the piston inside of our barrel. The force of the piston pushes the bean bag and gives it the velocity it needs to hit the desired spot. Inside of the barrel the piston is attached to the end of the barrel using a spring. This allows the piston to slow down at the end of the stroke and helps it return down the barrel after the shot is taken.
Electrical Components
The sprinkler valve: is a fast acting pressure relief valve. It has a diaphragm that holds the stored pressure and when the electromagnetic solenoid is turned on it open the diaphragm which releases the air very quickly.

MPX 4250 pressure sensor: is a digital pressure sensor that has a range of 0-22 psi. This sensor has an accuracy of 0.5 psi. We will use this sensor to monitor the pressure in the air tank and send that data to the microcontroller to make adjustments.

SNS 2W025: is a pneumatic solenoid that operates on a 12V DC system. This valve operates using electromagnets and I will have this solenoid controlled using the Tonling 3V DC relay. This will allow the microcontroller to control the solenoids using lower voltages.
